Where Will You Explore?
Salmon River
Launch under the Highway 19 bridge over the Salmon River and paddle your way downstream to Kelsey Bay. You may see eagles, geese, deer, elk, bears, otters and more.
Suitable for a full day rental. Explore Kelsey Bay, the log sort and the marina if time allows.
For a half day rental, launch from the one lane bridge by the Cable House (Sayward’s only traffic light).
Expect breezy to windy condition as you transition from Salmon River to Kelsey Bay.
H'Kusam Bay
Launch from Kelsey Bay and paddle your way down the coast to H’Kusam Bay. You may see otters, seals, whales, geese, ducks and more. Ruins of the old Fort Kusam are still visible just inside the forest off of the beach.
Suitable for a half day or full day rental. Picnic on the beach after exploring the ruins. Explore the coast, Kelsey Bay and the marina if time allows.
Be mindful of the changing tides, which can cause challenging conditions for novice kayakers. Expect breezy or windy conditions.
Roberts Lake
Launch from the logging road at Roberts Lake and explore the perimiter at your leisure. Enjoy a waterfall emptying into the lake on the far side of the lake. Enjoy a sandy beach for a picnic lunch.
Suitable for a half day or full day rental.
Be mindful of sudden weather changes that can bring on windy conditions and mild waves.
Keta Lake
Launch just south of the Keta Lake Rest Stop, which features outhouse washroom facilities.
Suitable for a half day rental. This novice friendly lake is lined with logs and lily pads around the perimiter. There is only one suitable entry and exit point.
Expect to see dragonflies putting on an impressive display of aerobatics.
The lake is surrounded by rising tree lined hills that keep wind to a minimum.

We rent to guests aged 18+. Liability waivers must be digitally signed by all guests prior to kayaking. A refundable security deposit of $75 per kayak is required. Multi-day rentals require additional refundable security deposit funds. Security deposits will be returned by same method as payment. GST will be added to rental prices (5%).
